Bangladesh wins 3 bronze medals in International Mathematics Olympiad

The students of Bangladesh have received three bronze medals and two honorary recognitions this time from the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). With this achievement, Bangladesh secured the 43rd position out of 107 countries getting 68 number this year. The IMO announced the test results on their website on Friday. Maruf Hasan, a student of Mymensingh Anand Mohan College and Tahmid Hamim Chowdhury and Adnan Sadiq of Notre Dame College, Dhaka were awarded  Bronz medals. Besides, Nuzhat Ahmed of Viquarunnisa Noon School and College and Tahajib Hossain Khan of Anand Mohan College received honorary recognition. On July 19 and 20, these six students of the Bangladesh team took part in the virtual examination in the Olympiad from Dhaka, Mymensingh, Kushtia and Delhi. Last year, Bangladesh won 1 silver medal and 5 bronze medals in the 61st IMO. Bangladesh was ranked 38th out of 107 countries with 118 marks.
